Determining Skin Exposure

Again, a reminder that skin exposures calculated using DAP readings are not altogether an accurate estimate of skin exposure.

In procedures where there is substantial change in the tube geometry or the region of interest, the DAP-calculated exposure only approximates the actual skin exposure. By selecting the closest Source to Skin Distance (SSD), and the smallest FOV, you can set an upper limit of skin exposure. This can be useful for worst-case risk assessments.
