Dosimeters are marked with a code to help differentiate between the collar and body dosimeter. Your dosimeter administrator will provide information on what codes apply to your facility or situation.
It is very important not to switch the body and collar placements.
A collar dose reported on a body badge greatly overstates a workers radiation dose, and for some interventional and cardiovascular fluoroscopists - the error may give the appearance of an overexposure. Correcting such an error involves both Health Canada and the Ministry of Labour.
