Dose Area Product (DAP) Meters



Since the Rcm², radcm², and cGycm² are roughly equal units, we will stick to Rcm² for the rest of this seminar.

We know that radiation spreads out over distance. A DAP reading tells us what the exposure would be at the point of measurement at the tube for an area of 1 cm².

If we divide the DAP reading by the area in square centimeters of the region exposed at the patient, we get our skin exposure/dose reading.
