

Determining Skin Exposure
Since the Rcm2, radcm2, and cGycm2 are roughly equal units, we will stick to Rcm2 for the rest of this seminar.
We know that radiation spreads out over distance. A DAP reading tells us what the exposure would be at the point of measurement at the tube for an area of 1 cm2.
If we divide the DAP reading by the area in square centimeters of the region exposed at the patient, we get our skin exposure/dose reading.
