Dose Area Product (DAP) Meters



The accuracy of the calculation depends on how accurately we can determine the exposed area.

To determine the amount of area exposed, we need to know;

• The source to Image receptor distance (SID),
• The Field of view (FOV) setting, and
• The patient's thickness.

From this we can calculate the distance from the tube at which the patient's skin intercepts the beam.
