Safety:
Reducing Mechanical Risks

  • During transportation of unit:
    • The C-Arm must be in its most compact configuration to assure safe movement on level or slightly inclined surfaces,
    • 2 persons are necessary to move the C-Arm and/or Workstation on an incline,
    • Do not move the unit over an incline greater than 10 degrees,
    • Take care when moving the unit into and out of an elevator that is not flush with the floor.
    • Always apply the caster locks when parking the unit,
    • During set-up, watch cable placement to minimize trip hazards,
  • Always check clearances between the C-Arc, the table, the patient, anxillary equipment and other personnel before operating the vertical column movement or using any positioning control,
  • Always double check the hold of locks, especially on overhanging or load bearning components such as the cassette holder or the orbital lock on the C-Arm,
  • Ensure that cooling vents on the C-Arm and Workstation are kept clear of obstructions.
  • Report to Service instances where mechanical components or movements seem too loose or too tight, or when movements cause unusual noise or vibration, or when friction marks appear on moving components,
  • Follow the vendor's recommended preventative maintenance schedule,
  • Report equipment collision or damage immediately,
