Reducing Electrical Risks
Take all normal precautions you would take with any electrical device. In addition;
- Leakage Current:
- Do not touch an electrical connector and patient at the same time.
- Check with Medical Engineering Imaging Service or the Vendor to determine if a grounding clip between the patient table and the c-arm is recommended or required under certain operational situations.
- Do not attach external devices to the x-ray equipment for use in a patient environment unless the connection and device complies with IEC 60601-1 and is approved by Siemens and Medical Engineering for such use.
- Stored Charge: Do not open electrical panels or cabinets - only trained service providers are authorized to do this.
- Current draw: Use the fluoroscope on a outlet that is not shared with another device particularily patient support equipment.
