Only GE Medical Systems trained personnel or personnel trained on service of the OEC 9800 should perform periodic or corrective maintenance on this unit.
After Corrective Maintenance is complete, the following are minimum checks to be done to assure the system is safe to use;
- Routine Mechanical Repairs: A mechanical and radiation performance check is required,
- Electrical Repairs: If the repair is to a central power supply, the high voltage or exposure controller circuits, or if it is to any component that is part of the x-ray production or imaging chain, a complete set of radiation and imaging compliance tests needs to be done after the repair,
- Repairs due to catastrophic failure (e.g. fire, fluid incursion with electrical short, etc.), a full mechanical and radiological systems check should be done,
- All repairs and the unit's maintenance history should be logged for future reference,
