Maintenance:
Electrical

A simple toaster can be a lethal electrical device if used incorrectly. The OEC 9800 is designed to be safe provided it is used and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

It cannot be emphasized enough that panels for this device should not be removed except by authorized service personnel. Even when power is disconnected, internal batteries and components retain significant electrical energy to cause injury or death. Similarily, intrusion of fluids or the abnormal presence of explosive gas may cause dangerous electrical shorts or explosions sufficient to cause injury or death. .

Check the following;
  1. Inspect all cables, (e.g. high voltage, the interconnect and the power cables),
  2. Inspect the footswitch and handswitch. Note that handswitch cables stretched too long may become a hazard and should be replaced asap,
  3. Perform the Workstation performance checks,
  4. Turn on the unit from the Workstation, and verify that the unit successfully completes the power up sequence,
  5. Test the column UP and DOWN switches,
  6. Test the Fast Stop switch. WARNING: UNSAVED IMAGES AND ANNOTATION WILL BE LOST WHEN THE FAST STOP SWITCH IS PRESSED IN THE FOLLOWING TEST. BE CERTAIN TO SAVE YOUR WORK TO DISK BEFORE INITIATING THIS TEST. To test the Fast Stop switch;
    • Activate a column movement (UP or DOWN as appropriate),
    • Press Fast Stop,
    • Verify that the column stops moving, that x-rays are inhibited, and a warning message stating that Fast Stop has been activated appears on the C-Arm Control Panel.,
